NETZSCH Machines and Plants for various Industries and Applications

NETZSCH Machines and Plants for various Industries and Applications

The machines and plants manufactured by the Grinding & Dispersing Business Unit of the NETZSCH Group are used primarily in the following areas of application: chemicals, paint, pigments, inorganic matter/minerals, sealants and adhesives, ceramics and in the life science field for pharmaceuticals, goods and biotechnology applications. The demands placed on machines and technology in these different industries are extremely varied. They must be reliable, have a long service life and be easy to operate and custom tailored for the particular application.

That is our strength and you can rely on it. We will work with you to develop the right solution for your processing task.

Paint

Paint

Paint is a coating material based on organic binders and, depending on the composition of the binding agent, can contain organic solvents and/or water. The organic or inorganic pigments that are finely dispersed in the binder give the paint its color. In general, paint is composed of binders, solvents, fillers, pigments and additives.

Pigments / Dyes

Pigments / Dyes

A world without color would be dull and drab. The elements and substances that make everything colorful are, on the one hand, divided according to the chemical structure into inorganic and organic colorants. On the other hand, the designation pigment or dye is geared toward how the colorant behaves in a particular medium. Therefore, the distinction between pigment and dye is not rigid and a single substance can be both a pigment and a dye at the same time.

Printing Inks

Printing Inks

Printing inks are finely dispersed, liquid to pasty mixtures which are made up of colorants such as pigments, binders (oil-varnish) and additives such as thinners, wax dispersions, etc.

Food

Food

For many years now, food products have been processed with a wide variety of technologies with the machines and plants of the Grinding & Dispersing Business Unit of the NETZSCH Group. From baby food to a multitude of spices to grains and sugar, cost-effective preparation by fine grinding is required. Machines constructed of rust and acid resistant materials ensure compliance with food processing standards.

Ceramics / Glass

Ceramics / Glass

To this day, ceramics have proven their value in a multitude of applications. Continuous advancements mean that ceramics are also of interest for new applications which require durability, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and temperature stability – and, at the same time, a low specific weight. Such new high-tech materials achieve strengths that are comparable with those of metals.

Agricultural Chemicals

Agricultural Chemicals

Pesticides protect plants or plant products from organisms that could damage them. The Grinding & Dispersing Business Unit delivers the right technology for the production of pesticides – whether by wet or dry processing.

Nano Applications

Nano Applications

The production of very fine particles by grinding coarse particles is referred to as the dispersion method or "top-down" process. For such grinding tasks, high energy densities such as those realized in agitator bead mills must be available. They are employed in many branches of industry for grinding raw materials into the nanometer range as well as for dispersion of fine pigments and products from "bottom-up" processes.

Adhesives / Sealants

Adhesives / Sealants

PMH and PML Planetary Mixing and Kneading Machines are especially suited for the production of adhesives and sealants. BP Tank Press-outs can be used to empty the system tanks of the mixing and kneading machines.

Cellulose / Pulp

Cellulose / Pulp

The extraction of cellulose is a complex process overall. A whole series of mechanical and chemical steps are required to first separate cellulose from the natural impurities and then refine it until chemically pure. The specially developed CONDUX Model CS 500/1000-Z High-performance Cutting Mill is used in this process. Here, the feedstock is finely ground using a multi-blade rotor (16 cutter bars on the perimeter) and a multitude of fixed cutting blades along with a special screen insert.
