Operations Manager

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Using SAP, reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
  • Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
  • Prepares preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Oversees the inspection of machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards including OSHA, EPA and ISO standards.
  • Resolves worker grievances.
  • Responsible for worker safety.
  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
  • Directs department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, improve processes and develop test procedures.
  • Analyzes technology trends, human resource needs, and market demand to plan projects.
  • Forecasts operating costs of department and directs preparation of budget requests.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in a technical, manufacturing and/or materials management field.
  • SAP or similar ERP experience.
  • Previous experience managing operations, processes and direct reports.
  • Ability to travel 20-30% and a current passport or the ability to obtain a passport upon hire.
