Technical Ceramics

High mechanical strength values for technical ceramics can only be achieved with the finest microstructures with no impurities or defects. For processing the finest particles in the micron and even the nanometer range with minimal contamination, machines are available for both wet processing and dry grinding. For wet grinding in water, alcohol or organic solvents, agitator bead mills constructed of polyurethane, rubber or various ceramic materials are available, depending on the application. Product examples:

  • Functional parts and wear protection, e.g. Al2O3, ZrO2, Si3N4, SiC, ...
  • Electroceramics, e.g. BaTiO3
  • Medical technology, e.g. artificial hips and dentures
  • Catalytic converters and catalyst coatings, e.g. alumina, zeolites

Wet Grinding

Products & Solutions in the field of Wet Grinding
The next Generation of Agitator Bead Mills

NETZSCH-Feinmahltechnik GmbH has now developed the new Alpha® modular machine platform. Compared to earlier-generation machines, this series is designed such that different grinding systems can be mounted on the same base platform as appropriate for a defined drive capacity.

Nano mill Zeta® RS

Specially designed for grinding and dispersing to the nanometer range. This new development combines easy handling and revolutionary machine technology with ergonomic design.

Horizontal disk mill System TetraNex® Type Discus

The disk grinding system sets new benchmarks regarding capacity and flexibility. You profit from well-engineered technology that has already been proved for processing different products.

MiniSeries / MicroSeries - Laboratory Mills for Product Development of Smallest Batches

The compact, universally applicable laboratory circulation mills of the MiniSeries impress with their easy handling when processing very small quantities from 0.25 to 0.5 l up to particle sizes in the nanometer range. It is possible to conduct many tests with low loss of product and significant results within a short period of time.

Finest wet grinding technology – the laboratory mills of the MicroSeries are an investment in the future for new product developments of different fields of application of pigmented ink jets, technical ceramics, cosmetics, pharmaceutical applications and nano-scale high-tech products.

Laboratory agitator bead mill LabStar

The multi-functional laboratory mill LabStar enables scientific academic work even at difficult research and development tasks and convinces by easy handling. The laboratory mill LabStar is the smallest grinding unit of NETZSCH-Feinmahltechnik GmbH that enables an exact scale-up to comparable production machines.

Dry Grinding

Products & Solutions in the field of Dry Grinding
s-Jet® Steam Jet Mill

The s-Jet® System (patent pending) is a new innovation in a line of consistent developments being made in the area of air jet milling. Final finenesses in the submicron range (example: d50 0.2 µm) can now be achieved with fluidized bed jet mills. As opposed to conventional dry grinding processes with fluidized bed jet mills, the s-Jet® System uses superheated steam as its milling gas.

CGS Fluidized Bed Jet Mill

The combination of an air jet mill and a dynamic air classifier represent fine dry grinding in perfection. The highest of final finenesses with an exact maximum particle size limitation become reproducible. The development of the new e-Jet® and s-Jet® grinding methods constantly yields new, interesting areas of application, both economically and technically. Applicable for finenesses from 1 to 70 µm (d97).

Machine sizes available for grinding air volumes from approx. 50 to 12,000 Nm³/h.

ConJet® High-Density Bed Jet Mill

The ConJet® high-density bed jet mill is a spiral jet mill combined with a patented dynamic air classifier. This classifier enables the ConJet® to achieve highest finenesses independent of the product load, and therefore also highest throughput rates. Applicable for finenesses from 2.5 to 70 µm (d97).

Machine sizes available for grinding air volumes from approx. 50 to 2,400 Nm³/h.

s-Jet® 25 Laboratory-Scale-Steam Jet Mill

The s-Jet® System (patent pending) is a new innovation in a line of consistent developments being made in the area of air jet milling. Final finenesses in the submicron range (example: d50 0.2 µm) can now be achieved with fluidized bed jet mills. As opposed to conventional dry grinding processes with fluidized bed jet mills, the s-Jet® System uses superheated steam as its milling gas.

CGS 10 and CGS 16 Fluidized Bed Jet Mills

The smallest jet mills for virtually contamination-free fine grinding with an integrated classifier wheel – highest finenesses also achievable with the hardest of products.

For finenesses from 2.5 to 70 µm (d97).

Machine sizes with grinding air capacities of approximately 35 to 125 Nm³/h.

ConJet® 10 and ConJet® 16 High-Density Bed Jet Mills

A new interpretation of the spiral jet mill – with grinding finenesses adjusted by an integrated air classifier – for even steeper particle size distributions.

For finenesses from 2.5 to 70 µm (d97).

Machine sizes with grinding air capacities of approximately 35 to 125 Nm³/h.

LabPilotPlant

Truly a flexible laboratory system – with reproducible results – variable for ultra-fine grinding and classifying – for laboratory operations or the continuous production of small batches!
