A premiere, chocolate production live at the ProSweets Cologne 2012
Amongst many other innovations presented at the ProSweets confectionery supply trade fair in Cologne, chocolate was produced and refined, LIVE, at the NETZSCH-Feinmahltechnik GmbH booth. For the very first time, trade fair visitors were given the opportunity to experience the fascination of chocolate production up close, from the processing of the raw materials to packing and distribution of finished pralines and chocolate bars.
To properly present the ChocoEasy® chocolate production system its inventor NETZSCH-Feinmahltechnik GmbH from the Bavarian town of Selb invested generously beforehand and decided to undertake a cooperation with Confiserie Storath from Schesslitz-Stuebig near Bamberg. The result was respectable: Within a booth space of 160 m2 – 145 m2 more than the previous booth in Cologne – there was not only enough room for the two ChocoEasy® 300, but also for a small production line, which was connected directly to a lovingly designed, old-fashioned candy store backdrop. Here was where visitors could convince themselves of the quality of the manufactured chocolate specialties.
The highly skilled Storath personnel routinely managed the refinement of the chocolate mass produced by the two ChocoEasy® machines – the same type that has also been working reliably at the Storath production site in Schesslitz-Stuebig for years. In addition to the classic dark and milk chocolates, a selection of fine chocolates with more exotic flavors such as “Tonka bean” were presented for tasting.
Because of an increased presence in the trade press prior to the event and several advertising measures on site informing of the attraction, the attention shown by visitors was expectantly high and lasted the entire duration of the fair. The booth personnel counted over 200 verified contacts to decision-makers and potential customers from 51 countries of which more than one third were valued as being high-class and of imminent interest. A distinctively high number of interested producers came from Germany, Russia, Turkey and India.
A further highlight at the NETZSCH-Feinmahltechnik booth was the symbolic presentation of a ChocoEasy® CE 50 to the “Zentralfachschule der Deutschen Suesswarenwirtschaft e.V. (ZDS)” – The Central College of the German Confectionary Business – on the second day of the trade fair. This compact chocolate production system will soon operate on permanent loan in the chocolate laboratory at the ZDS site in Solingen, supporting science, development and the education and training of future foodstuffs technicians. NETZSCH-Feinmahltechnik GmbH equipped their WhiteLab in Selb with the same system type, offering customers the opportunity to test many different recipes and machine configurations at any time.
